How To – Boil An Egg

It should be easy but it isn’t always! We love boiled eggy and toast soldiers (as I’ve called it since I was little) and it took me a while to crack (sorry!) the right timing for soft boiled eggs.

My method is to get a pan big enough for the eggs you want to do, fill with water just deep enough to cover the eggs. Don’t add any vinegar or salt to the water, it doesn’t stop eggs splitting!

Bring the water to the boil and add the eggs one at a time, lowering them in with a teaspoon.

Boil for a further minute, then take off the heat and sit for a further four minutes. That’s it! Enjoy.
